Solicitor – Actions Against The Police
Experience – Alexandra started her legal career with Higgs Newton Kenyon Solicitors in August 2020, following completion of her Law degree at The University of Liverpool. Alexandra completed her Legal Practice Course at Liverpool John Moores University, and qualified as a solicitor in March 2024.
Alexandra acts for clients on a number of matters including false arrest and imprisonment, negligence, assault/battery, and trespass claims against police forces nationally. Alexandra is passionate about helping individuals who have been wronged by the police.
She hopes to continue her legal career within this area of law, achieving justice for those who have suffered mistreatment from the police.
Interests – Outside of the office, Alexandra enjoys yoga, jigsaw puzzles and going to the beach.
Notable cases –
O v The Chief Constable of Merseyside Police – Obtained a settlement for the Claimant following an unlawful arrest for breach of the peace and failure to provide a name and address during Covid Regulations, despite no offence actually being committed. A settlement was agreed in the sum of £10,300 for damages and legal costs, for unlawful arrest and false imprisonment, trespass to person and assault and battery.
C v The Chief Constable to Thames Valley Police – Alexandra was successful in obtaining a settlement in the sum of £10,000 for damages and legal costs, following an unlawful stop and search under Section 1 of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act.
P v The Chief Constable of Hampshire Constabulary – Obtained a settlement for damages and legal costs in the sum of £6,500 following an unlawful arrest where, despite officers being in possession of a photograph of the suspect, the Claimant (who was not the person on the photograph) was arrested, handcuffed, and dragged out of their property unlawfully.
