Trainee Solicitor – CICA & Actions Against The Police
Experience: As a trainee solicitor at the firm, Michael has a dual role and deals with a wide range of cases relating to both actions against the police and criminal injuries compensation. Whilst working at the firm since March 2016, Michael studied for his Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course at Liverpool John Moore’s University.
Since the outset of his career in Law, Michael has assisted innocent victims in pursuing compensation via the CICA Scheme. He has dealt with a range of cases, however his specialist area relates to helping victims of serious sexual offences and traumatic injuries. Michael’s ability to listen and empathise with his clients ensures he builds a relationship of trust, something which he finds is important whilst assisting his clients in navigating the claims process and obtaining the maximum compensation they deserve.
Michael has dealt with high-profile cases throughout his career, including representing clients who suffered injuries as a result of the Manchester Arena terror attack in 2017. Working alongside one of the partners at the firm, he has also assisted many clients in securing higher awards of compensation than initially award to them by the CICA, via the Scheme’s review and appeals process.
In addition to his work with innocent victims of violent crime, Michael also represent clients relating to civil actions against the police. He represents clients in matters including wrongful arrest, false imprisonment, trespass to property and assault and battery.
Michael strives for justice for every client he represents, seeking the highest awards of compensation on their behalf whilst also ensuring they feel heard, respected and supported throughout the process.
Interests: Outside of the office, Michael enjoys spending time with family and friends, as well as relaxing with films and traveling when possible.
